Relax Gen. Singh, You're No Mike Mullen
India Army Chief has confirmed that Pakistan's nuclear arsenal is safe, lucky for all Pakistanis. We were worried he'd make a negative assessment but thank God -- or Krishna, in this case -- that India rushed to stand by Pakistan and debunk the motivated American claims on the subject.
Last week Gen. V. P. Singh said Pakistan posed a threat to India. After all, it was Pakistan that invaded India without provocation in 1971 and conspired to break away half of its territory. And it is Pakistan that is the larger country, casting a shadow over India and threatening it of another unprovoked invasion any day. And it is Pakistan that is spending $30 billion in just two years to buy latest weapons, most of them aimed at Pakistan. India is totally justified in being worried about Pakistani threat. Indeed.
After this statement, the GHQ, the General Headquarters of Pakistan's armed forces, and the Pakistani strategic community, were deeply worried about Gen. Singh's next statement. We all knew it would make or break Pakistan's international reputation. And then comes this friendly statement to put all Pakistanis at ease.
Gen. Singh and his immediate predecessor, Gen. Kapoor, started something new in India. Indian army chiefs never made public statements about foreign policy issues. The US military chief, Adm. Mike Mullen, makes such statements too. But he does so because his military has bases and soldiers all over the world. India doesn't. And yet Gen. Singh and the previous noise-maker Gen. Kapoor began this trend in India. Why? Because they were told to do so. It is part of Indian government's plans of projecting India as the next superpower, like they did with the other pooper, the Commonwealth Games Delhi 2010. New Delhi wants to put everyone on notice that Indian military chiefs make statements about any country, openly, just like the US CENTCOM chief does. Get it?
Except that, I would just humbly submit to the exalted office of the Indian Army Chief that: Let it rest, Gen. Singh. You're no Mike Mullen.

Nuclear Scare In India

American Conspiracy Theories
She identifies three threads: CIA organizing a conference in Thailand dedicated to Pakistan's disintegration, fresh attacks in the US media on Pakistan's judiciary to protect the pro-US government in Islamabad, and belittling Pakistani help in America's faltering war in Afghanistan.
Here's a quote:
"In the coming days we should gear up for a new nuclear related hype building up in the US media. Unfortunately, Dr Khan’s “letters” have been purchased by a leading US newspaper and will be used to target Iran. In the process Pakistan will also be targeted - killing two birds with one stone, so to speak. Would that our government undertake some proactive measures with the Iranians to deflect this new campaign but it hardly seems likely. So we need to brace ourselves once again for an onslaught against our nuclear capability and accusations of proliferation at a time when the US continues to proliferate to Israel and, post the 123 Agreement with India, to this South Asian aspiring hegemon."Click here to read the full column.

Indians Threaten A Pakistani Editor
| Jamim Shah: Latest media victim of RAW |
The new media target of RAW: Makhdoom Babar |
In the year 2000, suspected Indian intelligence agents shot dead newspaper editor Jamim Shah in Kathmandu. Mr. Shah was known for his damning exposes on covert Indian meddling in Nepal.
A decade later, a Pakistani newspaper editor fears a similar fate.
Indian interior minister P. Chidambaram warned in September that the Islamabad-based The Daily Mail was creating problems for his ministry. That month the paper published a scoop on Indian plans to deploy a unit of female sex providers in some parts of Indian-occupied Kashmir targeting Indian soldiers who serve in the war zone for long periods of time away from their families.
After the Pakistani report, Mr. Chidambaram's ministry was inundated with calls from angry parents of female security trainees recruited from poor Indian villages. Indian media later confirmed the Daily Mail's report. Indian Interior Ministry officials tried to control the damage by spinning the story of the deployment of uniformed sex workers.
Last year, the Daily Mail published a report that revealed a list of Indian nuclear installations and the peculiar security threats that each one of them continues to face, especially those installations that are close to northwestern India where some two dozen separatist insurgencies are in full flare.
In January, the Pakistani newspaper broke the story of a tussle between Indian army chief Kapoor and one of his senior generals over land grab for personal gain. The Indian media picked up the story and pursued it, leading to the indictment of the Indian army chief in an internal probe.

US Media Hides Indian Nuclear Scandal

Maybe. But you won't hear it on CNN, BBC or the rest of the Am-Brit media.
Why? Because it exposes India's low nuclear safety standards which in turn will embarrass Washington and London, two countries that are keen to use India's cheap soldiers to fight the Anglo-Saxon wars in Afghanistan and China.
Not a single major Am-Brit media outlet covered the story of the kidnapping and murder of a man that holds the key to the Indian nuclear arsenal.
There are no scare stories about Indian nukes falling in the wrong hands on either CNN or BBC.
Why? There are two funny reasons.
One is that the Am-Brit liar brigade spent much of its energy in the last two years trying to scare the world about Pakistan's nukes and how the poor Pakistanis are unable to protect them.
And suddenly this happens: a major nuclear security breach in India. And India is something that the Am-Brit liar brigade wants to protect at all costs. Mainly because India is the new slave-soldier of London and Washington and is being groomed to help in sustaining the occupation of Afghanistan and confronting China.
Also, the Americans have just broken all proliferation laws and decided that India is such a responsible nuclear power that it deserves to be given advanced nuclear technology.
Imagine if this incident had happened in Pakistan. The entire Am-Brit media would have been beating the drums of war, reminding the world how dangerous and unstable Pakistan is.
But now the entire Am-Brit enterprise is embarrassed. By the way, the Am-Brit enterprise includes biased British and American diplomats in addition to think-tank types and outright rude and dimwit journalists most of whom think they know more about your country than you do.
What if one of the 14 or so separatist movements and organizations in India kidnapped the scientist to gain access to Indian nuclear bombs?
What if the terrorists have actually gained access to an Indian nuclear facility as we speak, killed the scientist and are now waiting to carry out a major terrorist act?
What if any one of those Indian separatist groups fighting for the independence of 14 out of the 28 states that make up India have used the scientist to sell information or nuclear designs to groups or countries that end up attacking the United States? It is a scary business.
But the Am-Brit media won't cover it. Period.
NOTE: Nor would the Pakistani media, by the way. Pakistani mediA should have been beaming this story all over the world by now. But 80+ private news channels in the country and a giant state-owned media setup and tens of Press Ministers earning lavish benefits and still nothing to show for it.
